New Podcast Directory?
Ray Slakinski posted something about this podcast directory thing that Jason Calacanis is alleged to be creating. Has anyone heard anything about it?

No, it won’t be a podcast directory. Jason like to screw with folks, so this is likely a diversion. Or something someone else is working on that has been attributed to him. I’ll go on record saying we don’t need another directory (not as they are right now) but that I’m certain more will come.
My bet on Calacanis is that he’s working on something to do with search that probably extends beyond the browser.

it’s not a directory. he’s working with cuban on a new podcasting network with a few media partners like cbs. hes got a studio out in la and another in ny where he’s been hiring up no name actors and actresses to star in podcasts. he’s confident he can create 250 quality shows in studio and is in talks with Ze Frank and whatshername from Rocketboom about being possible stars of the network.
i wait tables in a restaurant he eats at in La and he’s always bragging about it being “so blown”.

Indeed, I’m not one for hype, but a buddy of mine works at the LA studio, I went there to meet him for lunch recently. It’s in Santa Monica right off the 10, and not far from the beach.
But here’s the cool part. I noticed Amanda Congdon in an office at her computer. I didn’t ask my buddy, but I’m 99.9% sure it was her. I spoke briefly with a couple guys setting up some camera and lighting equipment, and ask what they were working on? they said “A DAY” which it turns out is the name of the “network” of podcasts, which has some partnerships with Mark Cuban / HDNET and another big media company.
