I’m loving my new desktop setup. Really digging this new wallapaer I found up at DeviantArt, and Yahoo widgets have supplanted any use I might have made of the Mac Dashboard. Upgraded my copy of Pathfinder, Skype and such, and installed the new software updates from Apple this morning.
Now..if only Leopard would come out…
it’s a tricky, coming up with a desktop that suits you. I want my desktop to have useful stuff on it while inspiring me. I try to have my desktop wallpaper relate to something external to the computer. it reminds me that, yes indeed, there is a whole world of Unplugged out there to enjoy.

For those of you who have not heard, Geek Fu is on indefinite hiatus. Hear it directly from Mur on ths site.
Sad? Sure. But given how Mur’s career has changed and grown, I can completely understand. I started Unquiet Desperation when I had time, and then everything blasted off. She’s amazing for having made it so far.
So, while we’re sorry to see it go, it heralds new things coming, like her new vidcast for Lulu: This Week in Alternate History.
As I said…the podosphere is changing in major ways. Let’s watch, and see what happens.

The next phase of the Mahalo project is now ready for release. We call it Mahalo Greenhouse, and it’s your chance to get involved.
Here’s the skinny, straight from Jason’s blog:
Today I’m thrilled to announce the Mahalo Greenhouse, a place where the public can build search results that—if accepted by our Guides—will be included in the Mahalo search index. Oh yeah, if we accept your search result we will pay you $10 to $15 per search result (the range is based on how many search results you’ve completed: more here).
Now, if you’re a disciple of Yochi and you absolutely will not work on a web-based project for money, we’ve got an amazing proposition for you: make the web better by writing spam-free search results and we’ll donate your fees to the Wikimedia Foundation. So, you can make the world better 2x: first by making clean, spam-free search results and second by helping keep the Wikipedia running (those server bills ain’t cheap!).We’ve earmarked up to $250,000 in donations to the Wikipedia this year.
Update:Check out the Mahalo Blog for more information.
