Daily Show At its Best
The Raw Story | Daily Show: ‘America to the Rescue’ in the Middle East
Jon Stewart offered a Daily Show-style history of American arms policy in the Middle East on Wednesday’s program. “Obviously, the Iraq War is very complicated,” he began. “It’s another reason why Barack Obama’s foreign policy inexperience is going to be an important issue in this campaign. You can’t have a newbie overthrowing the delicate balance that we have engineered and maintained in this complex region.”
Scroll to the bottom for the video. Well worth it, and some of the best satire I’ve seen in a long time.

I watched this episode twice, and that bit stuck out as both funny and tragically revealing.

Excellent clip. I really need to make more of an effort to watch the Daily Show on a regular basis…

It’s too bad they left out the Iran-Contra scandal. And they could have gone back to a 70’s-style Americal to the Rescue regarding the Shah(sp) of Iran. Maybe even all the way back to the 50’s, with the creation of Isreal! Oh, the tangled web. I’m just glad the TDS has stopped tippy-toeing around this stuff. Who knows, maybe they’ll even point out the KBR Camps before they start getting used.
