Goin’ Vegan
While I was out in L.A., I had the chance to sit down with Nicole Gustas. Nicole has spent the last thirty days going vegan, and she has some tips and tricks for anyone else doing the same thing.

Here’s a couple more for you!
The Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen by Donna Klein. Absolutely my favorite vegan cookbook.
The Millennium Cookbook is for people who like making meals that are all French-restaurant-y. I have heard good things, but I find it intimidating and have honestly not yet cooked from it.

Oh, and!
Field Roast Grain Meat Co. I forgot I mentioned their products. They are AWESOME!
And I’m holding you to the turkey contest.

I don’t think I have the discipline.

Excellent episode. I’m always looking for some great meatless recipes. I’ll have to give those cookbooks a try. Thanks!
I recently have started eating spinach salads (a recent discovery as I do not like the taste of most salad greens). An interesting side effect of this minor change in diet was that I no longer crave red meat at all. And you know what, I’m OK with that.

I’ve been a strict ovo-lacto vegetarian since I was a child. I hate it when meat-eaters tell me “oh, I could never do that!”, yet I have a similar response when I meet vegans.
I respect it, and will cook to it when I have dinner guests who are vegans, but rice cheese just isn’t the same.
