Mahalo is looking for $10 an hour freelance, work-from-home writers to help us build excellent search result pages. Candidates must be excellent writers capable of writing perfect copy at a fast pace. Familiarity with online research, journalism, and wiki markup language are all definite pluses.

I hate for my first comment on your blog to be critical, but “perfect”, “fast”, “$10 an hour”, all in the same breath? Are you kidding me? I know you’re a Mahalo employee, and my girlfriend did some Mahalo entries for kicks a while back, and insert some other happy horseshit here, but come on. That’s a rate for highschool kids, not freelancers.
I guess it depends on the freelancer. For some folks who have strong skills but are just getting started, it’s a good way to get a foot in the door. Judging from the number of applications we have been getting, there is definitely interest out there.
I respect your point, but I think this is a question of what the market will support.
