After several days of looking at houses, apartments, and condos, we’ve finally settled on our new place in LA. We’re renting a townhouse at The Summit at Warner Center, and we’re very excited about it. The kids are looking forward to the move, Cathy is thrilled with the new place, and we really liked Woodland Hills.

The next step is to finish some small work needed on the house, and then the title will transfer on that. We’re hoping to be out in L.A. by the 22nd, but we’re not sure how possible that is. The kids will start school on Sept. 3rd, so our drop-dead date to get out there is Aug 28th. (Need a weekend to get settled, go to school orientations, etc).

Sorry this is so short…more on the trip later.

Update: Yes…we felt the earthquake. I have to agree with this infographic.

Housing report in Woodland Hills for this is what we did on Saturday, we saw several houses and a couple of apartment building. We put them offers on 2 houses and when I say offers, I mean that, offers to rent them not buy them, but we have high hopes for one of the homes that it’s been fully remodeled, hardwood floors, fire place, including in the back, orange tree in back, it’s really nice, were really hope. listen

Best Thing I’ve Read Today

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I don’t think you’ve truly bonded with your father until you’ve spent 36 consecutive hours in a holding cell mocking and taunting an inmate set consisting of multiple thirty-somethings decked out in homemade hobbit, fairie, chocobo costumes, where the only thing the lot of them had in common aside from a complete lack of human dignity was relating how difficult it was to sleep late when the sump pump went off.
