I don’t normally talk about politics on my blog, but this really bugged me.
Video: Palin Shown Praying With “Witch Hunter”
Blumenthal, in addition to his on the scenes reporting, posts video of the sermon which Palin references (footage begins at 7:30). In it, the minister implores Jesus to protect Palin from “the spirit of witchcraft.” Earlier, he states, “We need God taking over our education system. If we have God in our schools, we will not have our kids being taught how to worship Buddha, how to worship Muhammad. We will not have in the curriculum witchcraft and sorcery.” He also preaches, “The other area is the media. We need believers in the media. We need God taking over the media in our lives.”
Because the schools and the media aren’t screwed up enough…we need to put God in there to terminally f$ck it up. “Curriculum of witchcraft and sorcery.” Like…erm…evolution? And science?
Yeah…this is who I want one heartattack away from the White House.

The more I learn about Palin, the more frightened I am. What a truly horrid candidate.
Well, I disagree you, but arguing over politics is just too frustrating to be any fun, or change any minds either way. So meh.
There now, that wasn’t so hard was it? Come to the dark side and enjoy the warm freshly slung mud. You know you want to.
Wait, where is that school that has witchcraft and sorcery in its curriculum? Cause I wanna go take come classes there!

Wow.
I cannot say more… wow.
Well it was all a very “pastorish” thing for someone to pray for somebody. It is hard to account for what a Christian says about the “spirit of witchcraft.” I, being one myself, would be singularly uncomfortable with those things that were said.
I do not believe that we ought to mandate “God” or more specifically “Christian principles” into inherently secular institutions. Rather, the Christians themselves ought to teach their own children what they believe, and trust in to stand on its own.
I am increasingly disgusted with the idea of “Christian takeover” of schools, government, what have you. After all, Jesus didn’t try it with the Romans. Why should we try it now?
Just don’t take the hyperbolic language of her pastor and assume that’s her aim in running for Vice President.
My issue is that, when they say “G-d” (please forgive the Jewish spelling) they don’t mean “G-d”. They mean “Jesus”, who is, in fact, not G-d. See, it would be hard for him to pray to G-d if he were G-d because then he’d be pretty much talking to himself and the dialog/monologue/whatever would be really strange.
The bigger problem will come if the kids are smart and think things through. “Issiah says that the messiah will end all wars(Issiah 2:4). So why didn’t Jesus do that?”
I live in Australia, and I am scared this mad woman will be so close to leading the free world (In a manner of speaking) It terrifies me that she may end up in the top job. Does this mean all yobbos are eligible for the job? IS a lack of education a requirement now?? I really hope the US sees this woman for what she is.
Anyway, no matter how you see it “taking over” is probably not the best wording.
