You’re kidding, right? Right?

Yup - they got it!

Allegedly, this is Sarah Palin’s answer to a 2006 candidate question for the Alaska gubernatorial race:

11. Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?

SP: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance

Please…please tell me this is just propaganda, because the Pledge wasn’t even around when the Founding Fathers were doing the whole Founding thing.

I’m taking this with a grain of salt because I found it in an article on the Daily Kos, which…let’s face it…has an axe to grind.

Has anyone heard if this is true?

I heard it from 2 other sources. Doesn’t mean it’s true, but it’s believable. Especially since most people who argue with me about keeping “Under God” in the pledge do sincerely believe it’s always been in there (it hasn’t).

I haven’t got any confirmation on that, but I don’t find it shocking. I’ve heard it from other conservatives. I’ve heard it from conservatives who were alive and in school when they inserted the “under God”! So it doesn’t shock me at all.

  3. The Eagle Forum Alaska has posted the responses to their 2006 Gubernatorial Candidate Questionnaire on their blog site. Just check question #11. Yeah, she really is that uninformed.

The Eagle Forum’s Mission is to enable conservative and pro-family men and women to participate in the process of self-government and public policy-making so that America will continue to be a land of individual liberty, respect for family integrity, public and private virtue, and private enterprise.

Seriously, after watching all the interviews you even doubted it for a second? I don’t think so many people could make up so much of this stuff without straining all credibility. If even just some of it is legit there is a very serious world of problems awaiting the American public if McCain somehow wins.
