Congress is holding hearings on the Bowl Championship Series. Really? REALLY?
Go read this. I’ll wait.
You know, it’s good to know that we have nothing better to do than worry about ENTERTAINMENT in Congress these days. The economy is great, jobs are solid, and we have the best educational system on the planet.
Government. What a crock.

W. T. F. I really cannot think of a long discussion on how stupid this is. While I really don’t follow sports, I’d have to say this ranks even worse than the government poking their nose in my bedroom.
I never understood the BCS. How hard is it to says “This team won 10 games, this other team won 9 games. The first team is better than the second team.”
The good news about the congress thing is, from what I heard, only like 3 people are doing this and the rest of Congress isn’t paying attention. With any luck these three guys will get voted out next cycle and the system will work.
The bad news is the system doesn’t work and if the BCS series is governed poorly by these idiots, then more states will vote in congresspeople to fix it, and pretty soon the halls of Congress will be littered with banners, jerseys, and FatHead posters.
This is so incredibly ridiculous. People are so numb with entertainment that it becomes a matter of government policy? This country has a serious problem with its addiction to watching sports, pumping billions into tickets and merchandise. Is it right for an athlete to make millions per year? It sure is, as long as mindless drones are willing to lay down their cash to watch somebody else get the excercise they should be seeking.
I disagree with the sentiment that “its only three guys”. Why don’t you devote these three guys to figuring out how to encourage homeowners and builders to use green technology with tax breaks that make it financially feasible? Perhaps this would generate jobs in the green manufacturing sector. You know, jobs? Those things that everyone seems to be losing right now?
Wait a minute – I almost forgot: taxes fund congress’ jobs and retirement, while I have to pay for mine.
Sorry. Go Steelers.
